Zen Home was founded by entrepreneur Deanna Hains, a devout vegan for over 18 years. Deanna feels her compassion for all living things has led her to live a holistic lifestyle. She continually strives to be the change she seeks in the world around her.
It was only natural that Deanna would start Zen Home in August 2005 after a desperate attempt to find someone to clean her home with non-toxic, chemical-free products. Without much luck, she convinced a friend to help her with the cleaning and two months later she launched her own business with three employees and 25 clients.
In 2002, she founded an interior design company. Zen Interiors allows Deanna to express her artistic side with unique green design schemes and serene contemporary environments. From Deanna, clients learn about eco-friendly materials like wood from managed forests, vinyl alternatives, non-toxic paints, wood stains and carpets which can enhance the air quality of their home.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Deanna moved to New York at the age of 18 to begin her career as a high fashion runway model. After eight years of traveling, she decided to pursue her true passion of interior design.
